Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
EMDR Certified

Ann Trammell Qualls
Through my own healing journey, I’ve learned that while developing healthy coping skills is essential, lasting change occurs when we dig into the root issue. Sometimes, what we’ve experienced gets stuck in our brain and nervous system and this can cause many different issues like anger, depression, anxiety, OCD, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, or even addiction. I am excited to meet you right where you are and navigate a path to lasting healing.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I hold a bachelors degree in psychology, a dual-track masters degree in professional counseling and marriage & family therapy, and I am licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
I am an EMDRIA approved EMDR Certified Therapist. EMDR is an extensively researched therapy that helps people heal from trauma, PTSD symptoms, and distressing life experiences. In most cases, it works faster than talk therapy. For more information about EMDR, you can go to emdria.org. I also use other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Because our digestive system and brain are connected, and what we ingest into our bodies directly affects our mental health, I have specialized training in mental health and nutrition as well.
As the wife of a firefighter, I am passionate about helping first responders and their families. I am an approved and vetted provider of the DFW First Responders Support Network.
I am a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
I welcome people from all walks of life. I see individuals ages 13 and up. My goal is to create a welcoming and non-judgmental space for everyone. Please feel free to call, text, or email me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you!
Shared Experiences
Ann is extremely capable, friendly and non-judgmental. I have seen a tremendous shift in my trauma responses thanks to the coaching as well as EMDR. I highly recommend this practice!

Ann has made a world of difference for my family. She has a way of connecting with my teenage girl in a meaningful way and is able to help her navigate and cope with difficult situations in her life. I am so grateful for her kindness, patience, care and guidance she gave my daughter. In a lot of ways, she mended my family back together.

I've enjoyed Ann's counseling. The new office is further than her last place of business however Ann has been helpful in my journey to healing so I make the drive.

Ann is the absolute best. I started seeing her a couple years ago to do EMDR to process some trauma. I didn't really know what it was and was hesitant, but from the very first meeting Ann was so genuine and talked through everything with me. EMDR really helped me understand some things within myself and how to better deal with events as they come up in life.

After EMDR, I started seeing Ann regularly as a counselor as I had a number of life things going on. She has always been a guiding light and talks through difficult decisions and difficult times, while making me feel validated in everything. She's willing to share some of her life experiences that relate to mine, which resonate and help remind me to stay positive in everyday life. I really don't know where I'd be without Ann's influence and care.

Whether it's going every week, or every couple months, walking back in and out of a session with Ann has been so helpful for me. And I'm not one who would typically go to see someone, but I am so glad I did. I could go on and on, but in the end, I couldn't recommend Ann any stronger.

I have been seeing Ann T. Qualls for years. When she left her old clinic - I had to follow - she is so amazing! I have been to a number of therapists (and psychiatrists) over the years as I tried to deal with severe C-PTSD and OCD, but no one was able to reach me like Ann has. She has taught me so many coping skills, and through EMDR I no longer have night terrors or even consider myself to have PTSD anymore. She is so great and multifaceted that my teen goes to her as well and is doing so much better in facing the hardships that come with life and growing up. Thank you, Ann, for helping us become well-rounded people! It's nice to know "normal".

Kind and professional service. Feel like my counselor really cares but not in a weird way.

Ann Trammell Qualls was an absolute God send. Much more than a counselor, she quickly became a vital, trusted person in my life I could count on to be real, empathetic and truthful. Sessions were not a series of questions and answers with a formula given to put into use. They were conversations that led to a relationship which made it freeing to be honest, and move beyond traumas, pain, defeating thoughts, and habits.

Ann helped me see myself as a person of value, intelligence and capabilities. She helped me to determine the best path for me and guided me through much needed healing. Part of that healing came through the use of EMDR. I had never heard of it but am so thankful that Ann suggested it. Overall, counseling was hard work, but it was life changing. Ann's excitement over the progress we could both see in my life was genuine and encouraging. I am truly grateful for her and to her for the work she did with me.

Ann doesn't know how much I appreciate the help she has offered me! She is your girl if you need therapy. She has seen me at my most vulnerable place and has helped me deal with the loss of my only child with EMDR therapy. I know it will forever haunt me and I will never stop grieving for him but this helps to think differently and deal with it differently! She's amazing and this therapy is great for my situation and could be for you too!
